C.A.R.E. (Christians Actively Reaching Everyone)
One of the arms of outreach to our area through New Town Baptist Church is C.A.R.E. ministry.
C.A.R.E. originated from a Baptist Church in Hendersonville, N.C. It is a ministry that involves every person in the church (youth, middle aged, and seniors) who desire to participate in outreach.
Our C.A.R.E. volunteers meet once per month at our church, generally on the 2nd or 3rd Monday. We fellowship together with a light meal at 6:00 p.m. and each participant then gives about an hour of their time caring and sharing with others.
Letters and cards are written and mailed to people who are ill, shut ins, absentees, pastors in the area, new members, new residents in the community, and anyone that we know of that needs a word from our church family to encourage them and let them know that we care and are praying for them.
During this time, some individuals choose to just pray for special requests and needs. Visiting teams go out and visit new prospects and others, as needed. Also, telephone calls are made to various individuals who need a word and a smile from church family.
C.A.R.E. is one of the most effective tools of ministry and evangelism because it brings everyone together for that one purpose, and offers so many vehicles of contact ministry such that every single person can effectively minister with their God given gifts and abilities.
